Web Application Development

Applications are increasingly moving from the desktop to the Web, and the benefits are clear – cross-platform compatibility, ease of upgrading, less-costly maintenance and simpler deployment. We’ve been building online applications for over ten years. Our analysts, designers, and usability experts and developers are experienced in ensuring that our final products are not only scalable and reliable, but also easy to access and use.

Our approach to web application design results in low-maintenance applications leverage the best, most cost-effective technologies available, including .NET, ColdFusion, Ajax, J2EE, Oracle and SQL Server. Recent projects include:

  • SIDS Risk-Reduction Online Course – An online application designed to educate nurses and other caregivers about reducing the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Application includes pre-test, automatic progress tracking, post-test, generation of course certificate and back-office reporting for awarding continuing-education credits.
  • User Role Management – Large government agencies often have many applications that are accessible in different ways by different stakeholders. Using a graphical, easy-to-understand interface, our online Common Security Administration Module allows authorized individuals across an agency easily view, modify, add and remove the rights of individuals and groups to in-house applications. The result – a complex task made simple.
  • Institutional Review Board Tracking – Longitudinal clinical trials often involve the coordination of hundreds of study centers, each with its own approval body, or Institutional Review Board (IRB). We designed an application for a federal institute that uses a .net front end and a SharePoint document repository to help manage IRB protocol determinations, amendments and events over time. Centralization of IRB data with easy ways to find and analyze it makes a process once managed with email and spreadsheets much more efficient.
  • Workflow Management - We have designed and developed dozens of workflow applications that manage everything from ongoing NIH grant administration and new funding applications to telework requests. The technical foundation of our most recent workflow applications range from custom applications built from the ground up, to implementations of SharePoint Workflow Designer, Microsoft Workflow Foundation and Lombardi Teamworks.
