The American Physical Society (APS) conducts extensive physics programs in education, public outreach, and media relations, while actively representing its more than 40,000 members in public and governmental affairs, and in the international physics community.

The APS site was developed by Woodbourne Solutions using Cold Fusion and Commonspot on an Oracle database, enabling AIP to effectively develop and implement effective programs in physics education and outreach, inform its members of the latest developments through APS News, publish its widely-read physics research journals, and conduct over 20 national, divisional and regional meetings every year.
